๐ About The Fields Community
Rooted in History. Growing Together.
The Fields is more than just a neighborhood โ itโs a community built on legacy, connection, and shared values. Located in Lake Worth, Florida, The Fields sits on land once home to the historic Gulfstream Polo Club, one of the most prominent polo clubs in North America for nearly a century.
๐ A Rich Polo Legacy
The Gulfstream Polo Club was established in 1923 by the Phipps family north of Delray Beach, Florida, making it the oldest polo club in the state. It became affiliated with the United States Polo Association in 1935, and quickly became a centerpiece of the U.S. polo season.
In 1941, players John H. H. Phipps, Michael Grace Phipps, Charles Skiddy von Stade, and Alan L. Corey, Jr., all residents of the club, won the prestigious U.S. Open Polo Championship at the Meadow Brook Polo Club. During World War II, the club closed temporarily, and its stables were repurposed by U.S. troops in case of invasion.
In the 1960s, the Phipps family sold the original land. A group of polo enthusiasts and philanthropists โ including Philip L. B. Iglehart, Jim Kraml, Sr., Norberto Azqueta Sr., Robert Uihlein, Jr., William Taylor, William Stamps Farish III, James H. Binger, George C. Sherman, Jr., and Paul Butler โ purchased land in Lake Worth, relocating and reestablishing the Gulfstream Polo Club there.
The Lake Worth grounds featured five fields, including the renowned Bostwick Field, named for club member Pete Bostwick. Over the years, the club became home to top-tier tournaments like:
- USPA Delegateโs Cup (8-Goal) โ since the mid-1970s
- USPA Bronze Cup (12-Goal) โ since the early 1980s
- Heritage Cup (16-Goal) โ since 1987
Under the long-time leadership of Summerfield Johnston, Jr., the club maintained its prominence until its final match in May 2016, after which the land was acquired by Pulte Homes, officially closing a historic chapter.

๐ A New Beginning: The Fields
Established in 2020, The Fields community was built by Pulte Homes on the former polo grounds. Blending historical roots with modern design, this gated neighborhood features a combination of single-family homes and townhomes, offering 13 different floorplans:
- 9 single-family home designs, ranging from 1,800 to 3,300 square feet
- 4 townhome options, each under 2,000 square feet
Today, The Fields is one of the most thoughtfully planned communities in Lake Worth โ offering beautiful homes, a shared appreciation for its landโs legacy, and a vibrant environment where neighbors connect and support one another.
